Fritz Biagtan believes Denice Zamboanga is in a better headspace after latest injury setback: "Her mind is ready"

Fritz Biagtan shared some good news about Denice Zamboanga's long-anticipated return after her latest injury setback last month. The Filipina rising star hopes that everything goes according to plan for her next MMA booking on Jan. 10.

Since the start of the year, Zamboanga had every intention to challenge Stamp Fairtex for ONE atomweight MMA gold. The first bout was originally scheduled to take placein March but got moved to ONE 167 in June to accommodate a docuseries they were meant to participate in.

Later, Stamp withdrew from their bout on short notice after suffering a knee injury during fight camp. That night Zamboanga still performed, fighting Noelle Grandjean instead.

With Stamp on the sidelines, Zamboanga was offered an interim world title opportunity alongside Ukraine's Alyona Rassohyna at ONE Fight Night 25. But before that event took wing, 'The Menace' injured her hamstring during a sparring session, scrapping the entire bout altogether.

Now that she's got a new date for her bout with Rassohyna at ONE Fight Night 27, Zamboanga's fiance, Fritz Biagtan assured ABS-CBN Sports that she's in a good headspace right now to fight for the interim gold. He said:

"As of this time, she's fine, she's in good spirits. Her mind is ready. She's ready physically, mentally, and spiritually for this fight."

Denice Zamboanga has waited a long time to get her hands on an atomweight world title. She's certainly earned it after racking up three straight victories against some of the toughest women in the top five.
