ONE interim strawweight MMA world champion 'The Monkey God' Jarred Brooks of the United States certainly has a lot on his plate right now. But, the 31-year-old Warsaw, Indiana native wants all the smoke.
He's even willing to take on opponents he has already defeated. Speaking to YouTube channel, The MMA Superfan, in a recent interview, Brooks mentioned that he was open to facing former adversary 'Thunder Kid' Lito Adiwang this December, before being booked for his next fight.
'The Monkey God' said:
"Yeah, and you know, I was searching for maybe even a Lito fight on short notice in December too, just from the way that he was talking."
Brooks defeated Adiwang in his ONE Championship debut back in November 2021 at ONE: NextGen III. Since then, however, Adiwang has steadily climbed back up the strawweight ladder and wants another crack at 'The Monkey God'.
However, the American star says he's gotten even better since the last time they fought, and a rematch may no longer be competitive. Brooks added:
"And I had a really bad trip going to fight Lito. I just got done with my COVID vaccination, that was a really bad week, bro and I got there two days before the fight, literally. Not even two days before the fight, a day and a half before the fight, I was spinning before I was going into the cage."
Brooks returns to action next week to make his flyweight MMA debut in ONE.
