George Kambosos Jr. and Richardson Hitchins are scheduled to clash for the IBF super lightweight world title on June 14. But during their final pre-fight press conference, held on June 12, the pair almost came to blows after a fiery back-and-forth. To add to the chaos, Kambosos Jr.'s dad, Jim, was captured smacking Hitchins' trainer in the head with a microphone during the scuffle.
The tensions between the super lightweights has been evident from the moment the bout was announced. As fight night edges closer, the temperature appears to be rising.
The near-brawl on stage during yesterday's press conference was sparked by some heated words issued by the IBF titleholder, who said the following to Kambosos Jr.:
"Y'all are scared! I'm going to be the f**k out of this boy. I'ma beat the f**k out of you!" [1:52-1:58]

This prompted the Australian boxer to get out of his chair and confront his opponent, while his father, Jim Kambosos, could be heard shouting:
"Let's get it done! Let's get it done! Let's get it done! Let's get it done!" [2:00-2:04]
The elder Kambosos could then be seen charging at Hitchins and his trainer, before swinging his arm towards the trainer where a loud "thud" could be heard, as he hit Hitchins' trainer in the head with a microphone.

Eddie Hearn reacts to wild press conference for Richardson Hitchins vs. George Kambosos Jr.
The build-up to the clash between Richardson Hitchins vs. George Kambosos Jr. has been volatile, with the recently held press conference on June 12 being a perfect encapsulation of the respective fighters' emotions.
As a promoter of both fighters, Eddie Hearn was captured talking to the media about the tense press conference. In an interview with FightHype, the Matchroom Boxing chairman said:
"We've got to always try and keep a little lid on it. Shout out to Richardson, because he's talking that talk. George came in, Jim was probably a bit more riled up than George. I think George was like, 'Look, the talking's done. Let's go.' And Richardson stuck it on him. Then he got in his face, and George isn't the kind of guy where you can just step to him in his space. Sooner or later he's going to react."
