Georges St-Pierre considers Anderson Silva to be among the all-time greatest UFC fighters and believes that the former UFC middleweight kingpin is definitely worthy of a spot in the Hall of Fame. However, 'Rush' understands what could be holding the promotion from inducting him.

St-Pierre, who is the special co-host for the upcoming Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva boxing event, recently speculated why 'The Spider' hasn't been inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame just yet. Here's what the former UFC welterweight champion said:

"Because maybe he's an active fighter, they [UFC] wait for him to really calm down and not, you know, who knows. Maybe I don't know if there's a few boxing fights and then Dana's like, 'Hell, I want to pay you and to come back.' In a hypothetical world, you never know what's gonna happen but maybe they want to wait a little bit and he deserves, arguably, the greatest fighter of all time. He deserves a place in the Hall of Fame."

Anderson Silva is considered by many to be the greatest middleweight of all time. The Brazilian holds the record for the longest undefeated streak in the UFC with 16 straight victories between 2006 and 2012.

'The Spider' defended his middleweight crown an astounding 10 times. Considering his accomplishments, it's a fair to say that Silva will make it to the Hall of Fame once he retires from active competition.

Former undefeated lightweight kingpin Khabib Nurmagomedov and former UFC double champion Daniel Cormier were among the latest entrants into the Hall of Fame.

Meanwhile, Georges St-Pierre was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame as a member of the 2020 class.

What is Anderson Silva's boxing record?

Anderson Silva has an overall pro-boxing record of 3-1. 'The Spider' made his professional boxing debut against Osmar Luiz Teixeira back in May 1998. The fight ended in an RTD loss for the Brazilian.

However, Silva went on to win all three of his subsequent bouts. In his second boxing match in August 2005, the Brazilian stopped Julio Cesar De Jesus with a knockout.

'The Spider' spent the rest of the following years building his legendary MMA career before ultimately returning to the boxing ring in mid-2021. Silva has racked up a record of 2-0 since his return to boxing with his latest win coming over fellow UFC legend Tito Ortiz in September 2021.

The 47-year-old is now set to compete in his fifth outing inside the squared circle as he takes on Jake Paul on 29 October at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
