Dana White's claims that Power Slap is bigger than many other major sporting leagues, including, NHL, PGA, and NASCAR in terms of social media reach and following has failed to convince fans.

In a recent appearance on The Pete and Sebastian Show, the UFC CEO hyped up the recently formulated slap-fighting league saying:

"When I say that this is the biggest thing on social media, we started this 13 months ago, this thing has 13 million followers on social media. I was one of the first f*****g Twitter guys, right? I have 20 million followers... It's bigger than the NHL, it's bigger than the PGA, NASCAR. We are about to pass Major League baseball."

Furthermore, the 54-year-old stated that Power Slap rakes in quadruple the combined reach of all other sports in the world in terms of social media views.

Despite White swearing by the slap-fighting championship's superior reach over other sports, fans were far from convinced, prompting them to take to social media to note their dissent.

"Hand-picked stats."

@ToddJDavey lamented:

"Why does Dana actually think people will believe this? It's so patently wrong and easily disproven - it's crazy that he thinks anyone is buying it."

Does Dana White's Power Slap trump the NHL, PGA, and NASCAR in social media following?

During his appearance on The Pete and Sebastian Show, Dana White quoted his social media following numbers as 20 million. After analyzing White's X, Instagram, and Facebook numbers, he has close to 19.7 million followers.

So taking these three social media platforms as a basis for evaluation. Power Slap has a combined social media following of 7.5 million across all three platforms, while PGA boasts a combined follower base of 12.8 million, NHL has 18.5 million and NASCAR has 11.8 million.

Even if we factor in Power Slap's YouTube subscriber base, it still only touches the 10 million mark, which is still lower than that of the other three sporting leagues.
