Muay Thai legend Sam-A Gaiyanghadao believes 'The Art of Eight Limbs' is in good hands with Rodtang Jitmuangnon. 'The Iron Man's' legend has grown globally in recent years, making him arguably the most popular and highest-paid Muay Thai fighter in the world.
Sam-A, one of the most decorated veterans in the sport, recently weighed in on his compatriot's rise in a Sportskeeda MMA Exclusive.
As far as the former strawweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion is concerned, Rodtang deserves every bit of fame and riches that he has amassed.
"Rodtang is still a good entertainer. He can be brutal, aggressive, and funny at the same time. He's a real superstar. And he comes with a good game plan."
Moreover, Sam-A also praised the former flyweight Muay Thai kingpin for another stunning performance in his most recent win against Jacob Smith at ONE 169 earlier this month. The 41-year-old striking icon added:
"For Jacob Smith, I think he fought hard. But he's not at the level of Rodtang. And I think he's too determined and putting too much pressure on himself."
Rodtang's influence certainly cannot be denied when it comes to taking Muay Thai to unprecedented heights. Plus, getting the seal of approval from a true OG like Sam-A is just another massive feather in Rodtang's cap.
Sam-A expects an all-out war once Rodtang and Takeru share the ring
Even Sam-A is looking forward to the long overdue showdown between Rodtang and his Japanese rival Takeru Segawa.
Both superstars have traversed separate ways so far in ONE, but it looks like their paths will finally collide sooner rather than later.
In the same interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Sam-A predicted how this gargantuan match will unfold.
"I think their fight will go to distance, but it will be a barnburner throughout the game."
