Eddie Hearn has given his prediction for the upcoming boxing match between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury.

‘The Problem Child’ is putting his boxing reputation on the line against Tyson Fury’s step-brother on February 26. Paul is currently the betting favorite against Fury, but not by a substantial amount. During an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Heard was asked about the highly-anticipated cruiserweight bout:

"All the criticism, 'You never fought a boxer.' He's about to. Not a very good one, but still a boxer… I think he'll mess with Tommy mentally and Tommy will be defeated before the fight. I think Jake will win by knockout."

Despite holding a professional record of 8-0, Fury is being overlooked by most of the combat sports community. The 23-year-old is being labeled as a mediocre boxer who is getting ready to be exposed by the former YouTuber.

It also doesn’t help that ‘TNT’ has added pressure from his family, including his father threatening to disown him if he loses to Paul. With that said, the Love Island reality star has been boxing his whole life and could silence all the doubters by defeating ‘The Problem Child’ in Saudi Arabia.

Eddie Hearn reveals that he respects Jake Paul

Eddie Hearn and Jake Paul were considered friends for a short period while co-promoting Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano. Their relationship spiraled out of control when Paul accused Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing of allegedly fixing boxing matches, leading to an ongoing lawsuit. Despite their legal issues, the 43-year-old still respects the former YouTuber, saying this on The MMA Hour:

“I respect Jake, on many levels. Firstly, I think he’s improved as a fighter. I don’t share his views that he’s gonna go on and become a world-class fighter, but he’s evolved in a sport that’s very tough and he’s put himself in the line of fire in battle, doing the hard camps, doing the sparring…”

Hearn also stated that he respects Paul for staying professional and not letting the lawsuit get in the way of their fighters’ best interests. They plan to continue working together to make the rematch between Serrano and Taylor later this year.
