Oumar 'Reug Reug' Kane won't shy away from throwing hands with three-division king Anatoly Malykhin.
On Friday, November 8, ONE Championship heads back to the familiar confines of Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, for the biggest combat sports card of the year.
ONE 169 will be headlined by three massive ONE world title fights, none bigger—figuratively and literally—than the ONE heavyweight MMA world championship showdown between defending champion Anatoly Malykhin and Senegalese sensation Oumar Kane.
Malykhin is considered to be one of the most well-rounded fighters in all of mixed martial arts, as evidenced by his acquisition of the ONE heavyweight, light heavyweight, and middleweight world titles over the last couple of years.
But despite all of Malykhin's success and his incredible skills on his feet and the mat, 'Reug Reug' won't shy away from taking the fight wherever Malykhin wants it to go—even if that means slugging it out with the Russian juggernaut.
"No. Never! Look at my hand. I have a big hand," Kane told ONE. "It has big power. I’m not scared of anybody. You try to kill me, I’m going to kill you. That’s it. This is the life of a fighter. It will be a very hard fight."
Anatoly Malykhin thinks 'Reug Reug' will be running once he tastes his power
ONE 169 will be Anatoly Malykhin's first time defending the undisputed heavyweight title ever since he pummeled former champion Arjan Bhullar at ONE Friday Fights 22 last year.
As for how 'Sladkiy' sees things going against the Kane on Friday night, Malykhin told the promotion:
"As soon as the referee says, ‘Go,’ I will touch him two times, and this guy will immediately run away hugging."
'Reug Reug' is certainly not immune to being finished. His lone loss came via a second-round knockout against Kirill Grishenko at ONE on TNT IV in April 2021. However, Kane has looked practically unstoppable since then, finishing Batradz Gazzaev and earning back-to-back unanimous decisions against Jasur Mirzamukhamedov and 17-time BJJ world champion Marcus 'Buchecha' Almeida.
Will Malykhin leave with his titles, his 'O,' and his 100% finish rate intact, or will 'Reug Reug' kickstart a new era in ONE's heavyweight MMA division?
Fans in the United States and Canada can watch ONE 169: Malykhin vs. ‘Reug Reug’ live on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, November 8 in U.S. primetime.
