ONE strawweight Muay Thai standout Thongpoon PK Saenchai is approaching his 125-pound Muay Thai bout with Danial Williams at ONE Fight Night 26 on Dec. 6 with renewed motivation coursing through his veins. In a recent interview with ONE Championship, the 27-year-old striking sensation discussed how much he has evolved since his promotional debut in March 2023:
"I have to push myself, be more determined, train harder, and be more sharp-witted in the fight. I have to change my mindset completely to regain my faith."
The PK Saenchai Muay Thai Gym product announced his arrival in ONE with three highlight-reel finishes in four victories, the most recent being a TKO of Timur Chuikov this past February at ONE Fight Night 19.
However, back-to-back defeats to Zakaria El Jamari in May and Rui Botelho in October effectively halted Thongpoon's romp through the division.
Eager to return to form, a vastly improved Thongpoon could be awaiting Williams inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Danial Williams expects the best version of Thongpoon at ONE Fight Night 26
Danial Williams believes Thongpoon will be at his most dangerous version yet at ONE Fight Night 26 because the Thai-Australian knows how much effort is needed to break a losing streak.
'Mini T' recently told Sportskeeda MMA:
"I think it needs to be. And I think it will be his best performance yet. Because you learn a lot from a loss, he probably now knows that he needs to change his style, what he needs to be training or focusing on a lot more, and he knows he needs to get back into that win column. So yeah, it could be the best Thongpoon. At least that's what I'm hoping for."
ONE Fight Night 26 will air live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
