Stamp Fairtex opened up about the extra time she's spent thinking while recovering from an injury.

On June 7, Stamp was scheduled to defend her ONE women's atomweight MMA world title for the first time. Unfortunately, the Thai megastar suffered a torn meniscus while training, forcing her to pull out of the ONE 167 matchup against her close friend and former training partner Denice Zamboanga.

The light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer for Stamp, as she prepares to return to training fully within the next month.

Stamp recently posted a video on the Fairtex Training Center YouTube channel to provide an update for fans. The reigning ONE women's atomweight MMA world champion had this to say about what she learned during her recovery process:

"I learned a lot because when I’m alone and everything is quiet, I have a lot of thinking. Like, why am I wasting time so much? Why I don’t keep track of time? Like, when I have time, why I’m not paying attention, why I’m not focused, why I lost the time, like, I don’t have money. I should focus more than before. Because I feel like now, I’m wasting time a lot after surgery."

Fairtex last fought in September 2023, defeating Ham Seo Hee by third-round knockout to become the new women's atomweight MMA queen. The question is, what's next for Stamp once she inevitably returns to action?

Stamp Fairtex to keep close eye on Denice Zamboanga vs. Alyona Rassohyna

Following Stamp Fairtex's withdrawal, Denice Zamboanga stayed on the ONE 167 fight card, defeating Noelle Grandjean by unanimous decision. 'The Menace' extended her winning streak to three and now looks to potentially claim ONE gold for the first time in her fighting career.

On Jan. 10, 2025, Zamboanga will face Alyona Rassohyna at ONE Fight Night 27 for the interim women's atomweight MMA strap. Rassohnya enters the matchup with a promotional record of 1-1, with both fights against Stamp.

ONE Fight Night 27 will take place inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The event can be seen live and free by North American and Canadian viewers with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
