Kade Ruotolo is always looking for the next big challenge. After becoming the youngest ADCC world champion of all time at just 19 years old, the submission grappling sensation added ONE Championship gold to this resume a month later, submitting sambo world champion Uali Kurzhev in less than five minutes.

Facing a quick turnaround, Ruotolo defended his title for the first time at ONE on Prime Video 5 against IBJJF Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) world champion Matheus Gabriel. Though he was unable to get the submission, Ruotolo largely dominated the bout and was the clear winner on the judges’ scorecards.

Following his victory on Friday night, Kade Ruotolo spoke at the ONE on Prime Video 5 post-fight press conference. While there, he shared his frustration with calling out fighters and not receiving an answer:

“Yeah, guaranteed. I think so. Especially Tye. I don't like to be too persistent and call too many people out but it's gotten to a point where they're either going to take it or leave it, I guess.”

Kade Ruotolo’s brother Tye Ruotolo captured his second win inside the circle on Friday night, submitting former ONE featherweight world champion Marat Gafurov just past the five-minute mark.

Tye Ruotolo expects to stand side-by-side with his brother Kade Ruotolo as a ONE world champion sooner rather than later

Kade Ruotolo’s 2022 couldn’t have been better. After making history at the ADCC Submission Fighting World Championship in September and becoming a ONE world champion in October, things are certainly looking up for the 19-year-old submission superstar. His brother Tye Ruotolo isn’t far behind.

Securing his second-straight win inside the circle at ONE on Prime Video 5, Tye Ruotolo believes it’s just a matter of time before he has a ONE world title strapped around his waist. Speaking at the event’s post-fight press conference, Tye Ruotolo said:

“Like I said, you know, we've both gone through waves of opportunity. Right now, my brother's killing it with the belt in the co-main and for sure, I'd like to be there as well, but I know my opportunity is going to come sooner or later. So as long as I keep doing my thing, keep submitting and putting on good performances, I'll have a belt around my waist and I'll be right there with my brother.”
