"I'm obsessed with Muay Thai" - Liam Harrison on what motivated him to return from harrowing knee injury

No one would have faulted Liam Harrison if he decided to hang up the gloves after suffering a horrific ACL injury against Nong-O Hama back in 2022.

After all, the 38-year-old English icon has nothing to prove anymore and will go down as one of the best and most entertaining strikers of all time.

The defiant 'Hitman', though, refused to accept what most would many consider a career-ending injury.

Harrison went to hell and back just to rehab his bothersome knee and regain his ferocious form. His journey to rehabilitation was met with a couple of bumps, as setbacks last year delayed his inevitable return.

Now finally back to full strength, the Bad Company standout is ready to defy the odds in his comeback fight against Katsuki Kitano at ONE 167 on June 7 at Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

In an interview with Fight Energy Films on YouTube, Harrison said he had no doubt in his mind that he would fight again. After all, his burning passion for 'The Art of Eight Limbs' won't let him just go out like that. 'Hitman' would rather die on his shield, saying:

"I don't need to. I'm obsessed with Muay Thai and I always have been. I love training hard, even when I'm tired. I'll never come down to the gym and toss off a session."

Liam Harrison explains why he had to delay his return

Good things certainly come to those who wait. Liam Harrison admits he needed to exercise a ton of patience on his road to recovery.

The 38-year-old revealed he didn't want to short himself and his fans by going back knowing he wasn't at his best.

'Hitman' said in a Sportskeeda MMA interview:

"I'd have one good day and then two shit ones. I can't do a fight camp like that. I'm now back in a position where I'm doing everything I was before. I'm feeling good when I'm doing it. My hand's good, my knee's good. I'm feeling good."
