'The King' runs it back against the former divisional kingpin in a matchup billed by many as a possible world title eliminator showdown inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Having learned the hard way from his defeat to Yuya Wakamatsu, the Lions Nation MMA representative has spared no effort heading into this pivotal contest.

Reflecting on his defeat to Wakamatsu at ONE 165 and what he wants to avoid against Moraes, Danny Kingad told Sportskeeda MMA:

"I'm proud that I was able to go the distance and fought all the way despite my condition. Even if I tried to do my best given the circumstances, I knew by the end of it that it may not have been enough."

The 29-year-old continued:

"I kept thinking about it [the defeat and mistakes] even after we left the venue. That's why I'm really focused on avoiding the same mistakes."

Whether or not he can use that lesson to bounce back into the winner's column is still anyone's guess. In Moraes, Kingad will be up against an all-around warrior, who is on a path of redemption himself.

However, if all the necessary adjustments are in place, there's every reason to believe the Philippines national wushu champion can steer himself back on track at ONE 169.

Danny Kingad sees no issue with change of venue for ONE 169: "Turned out better for me"

Danny Kingad has no problem with the change in venue for his rematch against Adriano Moraes at ONE 169.

If anything, he believes the organization's switch from Atlanta to the Mecca of Muay Thai will play in his favor.

In the same interview, Kingad added:

"It turned out better for me. I feel that it might be more difficult to adjust in Atlanta considering the weather and the fact that it's practically half a day time difference from the Philippines. So I think it's just fine that it was moved to Bangkok."

ONE 169 will be available to active Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America live in U.S. primetime for free.
