In an exclusive interview with ONE Championship, ONE bantamweight superstar Fabricio Andrade maintained that he’s still the same person despite his success.

The self-proclaimed “uncrowned king” rose to fame overnight after making a bloodied canvas out of Brazilian rival and former ONE bantamweight world champion ‘Hands of Stone’ John Lineker at ONE on Prime Video 3.

Unfortunately for Andrade, his imminent victory came to an abrupt end following an accidental low blow that Lineker couldn’t recover from. However, as anti-climactic as the match was, Andrade gained a lot of new fans.

When Andrade was asked if he gets treated differently since he almost won the world title, the 25-year-old phenom told ONE:

“Yeah, for sure. I can see that they just look at me different, but I don’t try to think about that, you know. For me I’m still the same person so I’m not different than I was. I’m still doing the same thing, so I don’t try to think about that and just treat everybody the same and keep doing what I’m doing.”

Fabricio Andrade is currently one month away from fighting John Lineker in a rematch for the ONE bantamweight world title.

The two superstars are slated to headline ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video on Friday, February 10, which will be broadcast live and for free to all North American audiences with a Prime Video subscription.

The fans are super thrilled to see ‘Wonder Boy’ right the wrongs from his previous match and fulfill his long-time dream of becoming the next Brazilian world champion.

MMA veteran Aung La N Sang believes Fabricio Andrade should’ve won the belt regardless of foul

‘The Burmese Python’ Aung La N Sang believes Fabricio Andrade was so good in his performance against John Lineker that he should’ve been awarded the belt despite the foul.

‘Wonder Boy’ left a big impression in the MMA community that those who ever doubted his abilities were probably kicking themselves after watching him tear John Lineker apart with his skills and athleticism.

Aung La N Sang, who recently capped off 2022 with a comeback victory last November, had the following words to say about Andrade:

“I would say Fabricio Andrade [has impressed me the most this year]. Even though he didn’t win the belt, he pretty much should have won the belt. He came out of nowhere. I was in the same locker room as him, and I was like, ‘That guy was fast!’ He’s a very good striker and he’s young too.”

Watch Aung La N Sang make his US prime debut against tough middleweight Gilberto Galvao at ONE Fight Night 6: Superbon vs. Allazov. You can watch all the matches live on Friday, January 13, with an Amazon Prime Video subscription.
