ONE Championship welterweight Murad Ramazanov credits much of his success over the years to the support and guidance of his father. In an interview with ONE Championship hours away from his return to the circle, Ramazanov spoke about the impact his father had on his development as a mixed martial artist:

“He is a good striker. My dad is a Merited Master of Sport in boxing. He could have had a great career as a coach – it’s his calling. I owe my success to dad. He monitored my diet and physical preparation.”

Ramazanov continued, saying:

“His advice protected me from injury and helped me on my path in my amateur and professional career. He no longer goes to my workouts, but he watches all my opponents' matches and he still helps me with valuable and reliable advice.”

The Russian grappler will attempt to put his father’s teachings to the ultimate test when he welcomes Croatian knockout artist Roberto Soldic to the circle this Friday night at ONE on Prime Video 5.

Soldic will enter the bout as one of the hottest free-agent signings in recent years, but Murad Ramazanov is primed to stop the hype train before it even pulls out of the stations.

You can view their epic showdown and many more eagerly-anticipated bouts both live and for free with an Amazon Prime Video subscription in North America this Friday night.

Roberto Soldic and Murad Ramazanov will vie for a welterweight title opportunity at ONE on Prime Video 5

When Roberto Soldic and Murad Ramazanov step inside the circle this Friday night, more than pride will be at stake. The two warriors find themselves on the cusp of a ONE welterweight world title opportunity with a win.

Newly crowned welterweight champion Christian Lee is excited to find out who the first man to challenge him for the welterweight crown will be. In an interview with ONE Championship, Lee discussed the possibility of facing Soldic in the future, should he leave the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila with a win:

“Roberto, he’s been a big name that ONE Championship just recently signed. I know there’s been a lot of talk about him. A lot of hype coming from behind him. So I think that if he wins, and he gets a good finish over Ramazanov, he’s definitely next in line.”

Of course, if Murad Ramazanov plays spoiler, he will likely find himself in pole position for a shot at Christian Lee’s welterweight world title.
