Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal got into an altercation outside the Octagon in March of this year. According to Covington, he was assaulted after leaving Papi Steak House, a fine-dining restaurant in Miami that has a reputation for hosting all the biggest celebrities.

In freshly released police audio, 'Chaos' can be heard making his statement to the police detailing what exactly happened. A police officer then asked the UFC fighter whether he suffered any injury from the altercation. Covington replied by saying:

"I mean I definitely suffered an injury to my tooth he chipped my front tooth and knocked it out. The adrenaline is still kinda going right now but he definitely rocked me, I saw stars a little bit but I stayed on my feet and I was just trying to get to safety."

Colby Covington narrated the entire incident to the police who he was with and where they were going. He then filed a lawsuit against his former teammate and best friend for aggravated battery causing brain damage. 'Gamebred' was then arrested by the police and interrogated by the police, footage of which was also recently released.

The pair weren't always enemies. In fact, they trained together and stayed together for over 2 years before making it to the UFC. After getting into the promotion, their relationship slowly began to sour and led to a grudge match between the pair that Covington ended up winning.

Dana White says Colby Covington got what he asked for when Jorge Masvidal punched him

Back in March this year, when the incident was going viral on social media, all the reporters were begging to know Dana White's take on the situation. The UFC boss gave an answer that many did not expect. While on the Pat McAfee Show, he spoke about why he thinks Colby Covington was asking for it by involving Masvidal's family and children:

"When you start talking about people's families, it goes to a whole other level, man. If you're talking about people's families and you're walking out of a restaurant, you better be ready for a guy like Jorge Masvidal to run up on you. I mean, is anybody shocked? He talked sh*t about his kids and his wife. Do you think he's not going to do that? Of course he's going to do that."

White believes Colby Covington crossed a line by bringing in Masvidal's family and children into it. Covington claimed in the police audio that he made that as a genuine comment since he is still in contact with the kids and 'Gamebred's' ex-wife.
