Barely a day after his world title fight, Fabricio Andrade is ready to climb back inside the circle for another potentially electrifying clash with rival John Lineker.

Andrade and Lineker had an unfortunate end to their epic world title clash when their main event at ONE on Prime Video 3 was ruled a no-contest this past Friday at the Axiata Arena.

Things had a sour finish when ‘Wonder Boy’ accidentally hit Lineker with a knee to the groin. With ‘Hands of Stone’ unable to continue, the match was ultimately declared a no-contest, much to Andrade’s chagrin.

Fabricio Andrade, who took to social media following the event, admitted that he is frustrated at how the match ended and that he wants to face Lineker again as soon as possible:

“The guy has been running from me for a long time. He came here, he doesn’t make weight. And now he gave up on the fight like that. It’s frustrating for me, you know? I’m really frustrated right now. I don’t believe he wants to face me again. If he wants a rematch, I can rematch him anytime. You can see, I’m fresh. I took no damage in this fight.”

Lineker and Andrade threw bombs at each other throughout the fight, but it was the younger man who was landing the more precise and significant strikes.

Andrade tagged Lineker with a cracking knee to the body more than halfway through the third, but it the follow-up strike that caused the unfortunate ending to the bout.

With his opponent reeling, Fabricio Andrade launched another knee but this time it landed square on John Lineker’s groin. While Lineker was given the mandatory recovery time to get back up, that too elapsed, leading to the no-contest.

Fabricio Andrade says John Lineker took the easy way out

Although the lead-up and the fight itself were of epic proportions, the world title match between Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker ultimately ended in an anticlimactic no-contest.

Nevertheless, Andrade made sure that their rivalry remained as intense as ever.

Following the bout, the No.2-ranked bantamweight contender expressed his disappointment on social media. He said that Lineker took the cowardly way out of the fight:

“Honestly, I don’t think it was enough to make him stop the fight. But he knew that in the third round, I just dropped him with a body knee, and he took the easy way out.”
