Former KSW two-division champion Roberto Soldic is making his highly anticipated promotional debut at ONE on Prime Video 5. He recently revealed why he chose ONE over the world's other top organizations.

Unbeaten Russian powerhouse Murad Ramazanov will welcome Soldic to the circle in what will be an immediate test for the newcomer. Soldic spoke to ONE Championship in the lead-up to the bout regarding his decision to sign with the Asian organization.

He revealed:

"Everybody was surprised that I went with ONE because they expected that I would go to the UFC. But I just want to be something different. I want to create my own legacy."

'Robocop' continued, saying:

"I [know] many guys here who were in the UFC, ex-UFC fighters, and they said you do the best thing because ONE Championship is growing very fast, and they come to Europe now and America now with Amazon also, it's a big thing. This is now a world stage for me. It’s also something new for me that also motivates me for training."

Soldic enters his debut having won eight of his nine bouts under KSW's banner, with his lone defeat coming at the hands of UFC middleweight Dricus Du Plessis.

Roberto Soldic notes a specific reason for choosing ONE

All of the world's top MMA organizations coveted the Croatian talent upon his decision to leave KSW. However, only one promotion won the sweepstakes—ONE Championship.

Some were surprised by the move, but for Soldic, it wasn't that hard of a decision. He told The MMA Superfan:

“It was a good move that I go to ONE Championship because the weight cut is like three-four kilos so it's a good hydration test. I think I will perform better. I am very strong. I feel very good now because I can eat everything that I want.”

Many expect 'Robocop' to continue his success and ascend up the ranks towards a title shot in the near future. A win over Ramazanov would go a long way in Soldic's quest for a world title.

Make sure to watch Roberto Soldic's long-awaited promotional debut against Murad Ramazanov at ONE on Prime Video 5 on December 2, live from the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines.
