Romainian Court extends Andrew Tate's detention for another 30 days

Andrew Tate, a controversial social media personality, has had his custody extended for the third time in Romania. Along with his brother Tristan, he was arrested in December 2022 on serious charges including human trafficking, rape, and forming an organized crime group. The Romanian organized crime agency, Diicot, is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the brothers' alleged involvement in sexual assault and exploitation of others.

The Bucharest Court has ordered that Andrew Tate's detention be extended for 30 days, as the investigation into the serious charges against him and his brother Tristan continues. The decision means that the brothers will remain in custody until at least the end of March, as authorities gather more evidence and conduct further interviews with potential witnesses.

The case has garnered significant attention due to Tate's public profile as a controversial social media personality, as well as his previous statements about women that have been criticized.

The prior extension was granted by judges who justified it by citing the perpetrators' ability to exercise continual psychological control over their victims. This means that the courts believe the brothers constitute a major threat to the claimed victims and that if they are freed from detention, they could tamper with evidence or escape the country.
