It's safe to say that ONE bantamweight finisher 'Wonder Boy' Fabricio Andrade feels robbed of his destiny after the controversial fiasco that happened at ONE on Prime Video 3.

The main event bout had one of the most heated trash-talk exchanges seen in ONE Championship - and yet the outcome was quite the disappointment.

Fabricio Andrade's opponent, former bantamweight king John Lineker, missed weight coming into the bout and was stripped of the belt. Although the fight was the barnburner it was promised to be, it ended in anticlimactic fashion.

'Wonder Boy' accidentally landed his patented knee strike on Lineker's groin, rendering 'Hands of Stone' incapable of continuing the fight. The bout ended in a no contest and no champion was declared.

What seemed to be the most frustrating thing about the finish was the fact that just mere seconds before landing the foul, Andrade hurt Lineker with the same knee strike to the body. Some fans have claimed that Lineker used the foul as an excuse to not get finished as he was clearly hurt from the first knee strike.

In an interview with SCMP MMA, 'Wonder Boy' expressed his thoughts and feelings on the outcome of his fight against 'Hands of Stone'. Despite the fact that he looked truly marvelous in the fight, Andrade was disappointed with his performance:

“That’s the reason why I knew I was going to win the fight. That’s the same case with my fight with Shoko Sato. I won the fight. I knew I was going to win, but it was not my best performance. I didn’t show everything that I can do in those fights.”

Before Andrade's bout with Lineker, Shoko Sato was the last fighter to survive a fight with him without getting finished.

Always being your own worst critic is a trait commonly found in ultra-successful people and 'Wonder Boy' is the perfect example of this. Never satisfied with a mere 'W', Andrade exemplifies the mindset of a true world champion.

Fabricio Andrade claims that he was too aggressive with John Lineker

In another interview with The MMA Superfan, Fabricio Andrade shed more light on why he is disappointed with his impressive performance at ONE on Prime Video 3. It seems to have a lot to do with his pursuit of perfection.

Fabricio Andrade said:

“He expected me to come and, of course, I wanted to finish the fight. I was bringing the fight to him, just walking forward and trying to bring the fight. [Because of that], I kind of exposed myself a little bit. I can beat him with any shot because he’s so short, but I was rushing a bit too much. I wanted to finish the fight.”

It's safe to say that Fabricio Andrade was not planning to get hit by Lineker at all. If that's his goal, then his disappointment is understandable. Lineker did tag him a couple of times in the pocket and yet he pushed forward like it was nothing.
