Jake Paul has opened up about his decision to go sober and his journey of self-love. The 26-year-old is regarded as one of the most well-known social media influencers in the world today. The YouTube megastar transitioned to professional boxing in 2020 and has amassed a 6-1 record thus far.

In a recent edition of the BS w/ Jake Paul podcast, Paul spoke to Jordan Poyer about the NFL star's decision to quit alcohol and focus on self-improvement. 'The Problem Child' explained that he is also going through a similar journey of sobriety and self-improvement.

He said:

"I'm in the same boat, right? Like, trying to figure out how to love myself, trying to get my mind fully right. And it's not easy. Life's not easy. And like, dealt with some of the same things. I'm like, how many -- Two and a half months sober? But like, decided to finally give it [alcohol] up.
"And really, it was tough to come to that decision. But it just takes such a toll on your life. And I searched out for things to help heal; like, all the things in my mind, growing up. And everyone has their own personal battles and sh**, but my spiritual journey has been life-changing for the better."

Paul suggested that it's easy to continue down the path of self-destruction and vices, but it's considerably harder to confront one's problems and solve them. He added that despite achieving tremendous success, a person could experience a massive void in life and try to fill that emptiness with addictions such as alcohol and drug abuse.

Paul insinuated that using alcohol and other addictions to fight the void and lack of self-love pushes you deeper into a bottomless pit of self-destruction. He also highlighted that spirituality, meditation, breath work, and ayahuasca use have helped him combat alcohol addiction and improve himself.
