Jake Paul shows respect to Tommy Fury after first career loss

After a hard-fought bout at the Diriyah Arena in Saudi Arabia, Jake Paul succumbed to his first career loss to British professional boxer Tommy Fury. This was also Paul's first encounter with a professional boxer since he started boxing in 2018.

Paul and Fury had previously attempted to fight twice, but Fury's injuries and visa concerns prevented the bouts from materializing. Finally, on their third attempt, the two entered the ring to square off in a blockbuster clash. After two years of animosity, Tommy Fury has put an end to his feud with Jake Paul with a split decision victory over the American.

This defeat puts a blemish on Paul's otherwise perfect record, which now stands at six wins and one loss. 'The Problem Child' has been gracious in defeat, applauding Fury's efforts and thanking fans for their support, even as the combat sports community has been trying to kick him while he's down.

Paul took to Twitter to reflect on his first career loss and wrote:

"Don’t judge me by my wins, judge me by my losses. Congrats to Tommy, his team and his family. Thank you to everyone that tuned in. Saudi Arabia, thank you as well. I will be back."

KSI's younger brother Deji applauds Jake Paul's character following first career loss

Jake Paul recently experienced his first career loss against Tommy Fury. Right from the opening sequence, Paul tried to make the fight competitive, smothering Fury with punches and getting in tight for some early exchanges. Paul had a hard time avoiding Fury's long reach, and the Brit's jab was a major factor in the fight.

Paul fought valiantly, but in the end, Fury won by split decision (76-73 on two judges' scorecards for Fury and 75-74 for Paul).

Paul has maintained a hostile relationship with fellow YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI, despite his older brother Logan running a successful business with 'JJ.' However, the animosity shared by the pair did not stop Deji, KSI's younger brother, from giving Paul the credit that he deserves. He posted an image with Jake Paul and wrote:

"Losing doesn’t define you, it’s how you handle loss that makes you a true champion @jakepaul."

Elsewhere, KSI spared no effort to mock Paul on his first career loss:

"Jake, the problem with you, the reason why you lost is because you aren't drinking PRIME baby. I stay winning b*tch."
