MMA coach James Krause was disallowed to corner bantamweight fighter, Miles Johns, during tonight's UFC Fight Night event in Las Vegas.

Krause is currently under investigation for suspicious gambling activity on a UFC bout earlier this month, ESPN reported.

Johns won his bout via unanimous decision, even without his coach. During his post-fight interview, the Kansas native explained that his coach is being suspended by the UFC amid the controversy. Johns told Michael Bisping:

"I took this fight in two weeks' notice. I just changed gyms, moved my family across the state... My coach last night at the dinner table got pulled and they said that the UFC was suspending him so he couldn't be here in my corner."

However, ESPN's report noted that Krause hasn't been formally suspended by the UFC or any athletic commission. Still, the promotion was uncomfortable with letting him corner fights for the time being.

The decision came after the controversy surfaced surrounding the November 5 bout between Darrick Minner and Shayilan Nuerdanbieke. Nuerdanbieke won the fight by way of a first-round finish.

Minner, one of Krause's students, apparently came into the fight with an injured knee. It was suspected that Krause might have something to do with the rumor circulating, which resulted to a slew of bets pouring in for Nuerdanbieke

Former UFC contender accuses James Krause of neglect

Ex-UFC featherweight contender Megan Anderson has made some serious allegations against her former coach James Krause.

Anderson has been inactive since losing to Amanda Nunes in March 2021. However, the Australian recently made noise after posting a screenshot where she accused the Glory MMA head coach of not giving her enough attention in the lead-up to her title fight. The post read:

"When you only received 1 x 30min pad session a week for the entire seven months I was IN camp and received no other individual coaching, no one picking my training partners/rounds or even coaching me through those rounds the entire time, when no matter how many times I asked to sit down to talk about a game plan an excuse was always given for it to to never happen, then it’s not throwing them under the bus… It’s saying exactly what happened."

Anderson also accused Krause of having an affair with ESPN MMA reporter Laura Sanko. Neither Krause nor Sanko have commented on the allegations.
