Janet Todd likes to think that she sets a good example for fighters to learn from. The atomweight kickboxing and interim Muay Thai world champion is a beacon of hard work and respect, and she is grateful that the promotion she competes in stands for the same values.

‘JT’ has broken new ground as a female competitor in kickboxing and Muay Thai. It wasn’t long ago that top promotions wouldn't even let female competitors fight under striking rulesets like Muay Thai, but these barriers have been broken down by elite fighters like Todd.

Achieving two-sport world champion status in her career, the California native is extremely proud of not only what she has been able to accomplish, but also the manner in which she has done it.

In an interview with ONE Championship, she spoke about the key values that the promotion stands for:

“I just like ONE Championship's values of respectfulness, discipline, and there's not as much of that sh*t-talking, drama kind of stuff. Everybody's kind of, for the most part, respectful of each other. I think that's something that young athletes can look up to.”

At ONE Fight Night 8 on March 24, ‘JT’ will get the opportunity to add another accolade to her trophy cabinet when she faces the returning Allycia Hellen Rodrigues to unify the atomweight Muay Thai world championships.

Janet Todd breaks down Allycia Hellen Rodrigues’ strengths

At ONE Fight Night 8 on March 24, Janet Todd will welcome Allycia Hellen Rodrigues back to the circle after the champion’s three year absence from competition.

After producing a shock result when she dethroned Stamp Fairtex on her ONE Championship debut, Rodrigues has not returned to the circle since that fight, taking time off due to the birth of her first child.

In the champion’s absence, ONE’s atomweight kickboxing world champion Janet Todd has claimed the interim title to set up a huge unification for Rodrigues’ return.

After their initial fight was canceled at late notice due to Todd testing positive for COVID-19, the division will finally have one definitive champion by the end of ONE Fight Night 8.

Ahead of her clash with the Brazilian champion, Janet Todd spoke about what her upcoming opponent’s biggest strengths are:

"She's a very good kicker, and she's very good in the clinch. I know that at one point in the fight, we're going to end up in the clinch because she's a clinch fighter. And I know that she's got very good left kicks against punchers so I'm going to be expecting that too."
