In his first fight since being promoted to the IBF world welterweight champion, Jaron 'Boots' Ennis will make his first title defense on July 13 against David Avanesyan. Avanesyan will be challenging for the title for the second time since 2022 when he lost to then-champion Terence Crawford by knockout.
Looking to remain undefeated, Ennis will be competing for the 32nd time as a professional and in his first world title fight. The 32-year-old won the IBF interim welterweight title in 2022 and held the belt for nearly two years before being promoted to world champion in late 2023.
With the event scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET / 1 a.m. UK on DAZN, Ennis and Avanesyan are expected to make their walk to the ring at roughly 10:40 p.m. ET / 3:40 a.m. UK.
The fight card will be held at the Wells Fargo Center in Ennis' hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
