‘The Sniper’ Stephen Loman faces his biggest test to date at ONE on Prime Video 4. However, his teammate Jeremy Pacatiw believes that he is ready for the challenge.

In his third fight with ONE Championship, Loman will face the former two-time bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes on November 19 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Loman's fellow Team Lakay student Jeremy Pacatiw believes that Loman may have an answer to some of Fernandes’ biggest strengths.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Pacatiw drew from his experiences during gym training alongside Loman to offer some thoughts on the match-up:

“We know how good of a grappler Bibiano Fernandes is. When he takes it to the ground, he’s very dangerous. But Stephen Loman is very strong, one of the strongest on the team. His strength is very hard to deal with. He will give Bibiano a few problems.”

Team Lakay are no strangers to Bibiano Fernandes’ grappling abilities that saw him dominate the bantamweight division until he lost the title earlier this year. Fernandes submitted Loman’s teammate Kevin Belingon twice during their heated rivalry in the circle.

The fight will be Bibiano Fernandes’ return to the circle after losing his world championship to ‘Hands of Stone’ John Lineker in March at ONE: Lights Out.

“Stephen Loman is tested” - Mark Sangiao says Bibiano Fernandes will face big challenge against 'The Sniper'

Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao believes that his fighter Stephen Loman has what it takes to cause former world champion Bibiano Fernandes a lot of issues.

Currently undefeated in ONE Championship with two victories, ‘The Sniper’ has looked impressive thus far but will face a big step-up in competition when he takes on Bibiano Fernandes, who has dominated the bantamweight division for so long.

Despite his age and the fact he’s coming into the fight off of a loss to John Lineker, Bibiano Fernandes proved in that fight that he is not at all past it. Fernandes showed great heart to stay in the fight and was even able to hurt Lineker at times.

Whilst Team Lakay is well aware of the threat that Fernandes presents, Mark Sangiao believes that Loman will also ask Fernandes questions in the circle. He told The MMA Super-Fan:

“When Bibiano takes you down, he has a good control. He’s very good in jiu-jitsu but Stephen Loman is tested. He’s the longest champion on the team. He holds the belt in another organization. This is also a big challenge for Bibiano.”
