ONE bantamweight contender Jeremy Pacatiw believes that Fabricio Andrade has an advantage over John Lineker in their upcoming rematch.
At ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video, the two Brazilians will look to put their previous fight, which ended in a no contest, behind them and finally crown a world champion in the bantamweight division.
The first time around, it was all about Fabricio Andrade’s performance. It saw him come just moments away from winning the fight until an unintentional low blow caused a disappointing end.
Whilst the division was left without a world champion, both fans and fighters like Jeremy Pacatiw were left impressed by the skills of ‘Wonder Boy’, who thrived against a dangerous opponent in John Lineker.

In an interview with The MMA Superfan, Pacatiw spoke about Andrade's skills and the lessons that he learned from watching the first fight between the two Brazilians:
“I think what he did in the first fight is already enough. I think what he’ll do is time his strikes perfectly. That’s like his style, you know, so it will show in the fight itself. Andrade is a master at timing opponents. If Lineker does adjust in the fight, it should be with his footwork, then Andrade will up the pressure.”

Jeremy Pacatiw says John Lineker needs to showcase better defense in Fabricio Andrade rematch
In a perfect counterpoint to his praise for Fabricio Andrade, Jeremy Pacatiw believes that John Lineker must defend himself better if he is to have a chance of being successful in their rematch.
The Team Lakay fighter has praised Andrade’s offense ahead of his rematch with Lineker. but as always in MMA, it’s not that simple.
Whilst ‘Wonder Boy’ has been able to break down all of his opponents inside the circle with his precision striking, John Lineker didn’t give the best account of himself on the night. The former world champion is known for walking his opponents down and forcing them into a brawl, which he was unable to do at ONE on Prime Video 3.
In the same interview, Jeremy Pacatiw spoke about how Lineker can make his own adjustments in order to limit the effectiveness of Fabricio Andrade’s striking:
“Yeah, Andrade’s striking is really different. We saw how Lineker’s eyes were practically closed. Maybe if Lineker uses better footwork or head movement, then he could put on a better performance and avoid getting hit because he just absorbed those shots.”
Pacatiw knows all too well about the striking threat that Andrade presents. At ONE: Full Circle in February 2022, he was handed his lone loss inside the circle when he was knocked out by ‘Wonder Boy’ in the opening round.
