Joe Rogan recently spoke about the supervolcano Taupo on his podcast.

On the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Rogan, along with fellow comedian Duncan Trussell, discussed the eruption of the supervolcano Taupo, which took place millions of years ago. The JRE podcast host detailed how the deadly explosion brought the population of New Zealand down to a mere seven thousand people.

The UFC analyst also discussed the struggles of those who were left behind by the eruption and what they may have had to do to survive, saying:

"[In] Taupo, and it killed everybody except for, I think it was down to seven thousand people. So, the whole earth...think about seven billion people they were down to seven thousand. What horrors did those people see? ...The sky becomes black with soot as this volcano bursts fire into the sky and it drowns out all the sun, kills all the plants. You have no food, animals starve to death. They might have just eaten each other. I mean who the fu*k knows?"

Joe Rogan discusses inaccurate tech algorithms of various social media platforms

Social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram have become the go-to for staying up to date on recent events. However, according to Joe Rogan, the algorithms used by these platforms are inaccurate.

The UFC color commentator stated that these algorithms are incapable of distinguishing between false and accurate information, thus misleading their users. Giving his opinion on the matter, on a recent episode of his popular JRE podcast, Rogan said:

"If you want to find out what's going on it's [Twitter] like the best place to go to immediately to find out you know some country got overthrown, some chaos is happening somewhere in the world. Atleast you're getting something and also you're getting various perspectives. You're getting some boots on the ground perspective, you're getting some official perspective...Just the problem is sorting it out. It's not a good platform for sorting out what's accurate, what's not accurate...It's kind of wild that there is only one place where people go to bi*ch about things."
