ONE bantamweight world champion John Lineker has been battle-hardened by the epic wars he has endured over the course of his storied MMA career.

Hands of Stone’ believes that experience will come in handy when he takes on youthful No.1 contender Fabricio Andrade in the main event of ONE on Prime Video 3 on October 21.

The much-anticipated slugfest between the two Brazilian brawlers will take place inside the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and will be broadcast live on US Primetime via Prime Video.

Lineker, who will be defending his 145-pound throne for the first time, has been fighting professionally since 2008 and is a veteran of 44 fights. ‘Wonder Boy’, on the other hand, started his MMA journey in 2014 and has only 10 bouts to his name.

While youth is certainly on the 25-year-old challenger’s side, John Lineker argued that the wisdom and knowledge he has accumulated over the years will be his key to victory. In an exclusive interview with ONE Championship, he spoke about experience by saying:

“Having experience is a good thing because it makes you more confident in fights. But whether it can help me or not depends a lot on what you want, how much you want to win. I believe in that a lot, and that's why in all my fights I always looked for what I wanted. So, the experience will help me to face situations that I've been through and they won't shake me.”

John Lineker’s maturity has been evident throughout the build-up to this match, as he refused to respond to Andrade’s scathing verbal assault.

With less than a week to go before the two gladiators take center stage inside the circle, the Brazilian world champion had a parting message for his brash opponent:

“The advice I give to Fabrício is talk less and do more.”

Fabricio Andrade vows to stand and bang with John Lineker

Fabricio Andrade will finally get the chance to put his money where his mouth is in the biggest fight of his life at ONE on Prime Video 3.

‘Wonder Boy’, who has made a lot of pre-fight guarantees, claimed that he’ll be the first person to knock John Lineker out.

After finishing his last three opponents in the first round, the No.2-ranked ONE bantamweight fighter’s confidence is at an all-time high. So much so that he even dared one of the scariest power punchers in MMA history to a striking-only match.

Andrade said in an interview with Tudor Leonte of Sherdog:

“He says he won’t shoot. He has the impression that he thinks I’m going to shoot. Definitely, I won’t be shooting for takedowns in this fight. Once he feels my power he’s going to try and do anything to win. I’m going to turn him into a wrestler. It doesn’t mean he’s going to take me down. He’ll probably try but it won’t work.”
