Jon Jones returned to the octagon earlier this month as he defeated Stipe Miocic via third-round TKO at UFC 309 to defend his heavyweight title for the first time. 'Bones', who had a dominant reign as the light heavyweight champion, weighed in on a recently announced matchup in his former division.
Speaking to The Schmo, Jones was asked about the UFC 311 205-pound bout between No.2-ranked Jiri Prochazka and No.3-ranked Jamahal Hill, stating:
"I think Jamahal Hill will win. Jiri has really unorthodox striking, but Jamahal seems like the more technical, more clean striker and I'm a big fan of basic techniques. And Jamahal has a really strong, basic, clean kickboxing style."

Prochazka last entered the octagon at UFC 303 in June as he challenged Alex Pereira for the light heavyweight title, losing the bout via second-round TKO. Hill also faced 'Poatan' in his last fight, losing via first-round knockout at UFC 300 in April. The matchup will likely have significant implications on the division's title picture as - aside from Magomed Ankalaev - the division does not have any clear contenders.
Jon Jones shares update on return following UFC 309 victory

Speaking to The Schmo, the heavyweight champion claimed:
"Right now, the UFC and I, we're in negotiations. We're in talks to see what happens next. I'm back in the gym. I'm training. I feel really great. The team's support, they're right behind me. And we'll just be ready for whatever opportunity comes our way."
