Former ONE flyweight Muay Thai champion Jonathan Haggerty is ready to stake his claim in a new weight class against Russia's Vladimir Kuzmin at ONE on Prime Video 4, where he hopes to earn twin victories with his teammate Liam Nolan.

Haggerty will be making his bantamweight Muay Thai debut against Russia's Kuzmin. The decision to move up a division came after the 25-year-old struggled to make weight on two different occasions earlier in the year.

The Brit's teammate and training partner, ONE lightweight Muay Thai competitor Liam Nolan, will be taking on Eddie Abasolo at ONE on Prime Video 4.

Haggerty recently spoke to the promotion about what it's like to share a card with his teammate:

“It’ll be the first time that we're going to be on the same card, you know, so I feel like it's going to be a big confidence booster. We're both going to bounce off each other. We've been training together for this whole camp. We know what we're going to do. We're going to go to ONE Championship, and we're going to go put on some work, mate.”

Jonathan Haggerty wants to make a statement in bantamweight debut against Vladimir Kuzmin

Haggerty created waves in his ONE debut against current strawweight Muay Thai champ Joseph Lasiri, besting him via unanimous decision. The Brit is hoping to make a similar statement in his bantamweight debut. He told The MMA Superfan:

"I feel like I want to [make] an impression, like when I fought against [Joseph] Lasiri in my debut and then the next fight against Sam-A. That’s the impression I want to make, like, ‘Wow this guy is the real deal.'"

Aside from the mishaps on the scale, Haggerty has been very successful in his last few outings. He's currently riding back-to-back victories over Taiki Naito and Mongkolpetch Petchyindee.

The current No.3-ranked flyweight Muay Thai fighter will look to climb the bantamweight ladder to eventually face the champion, Nong-O Gaiyanghadao.

Be sure to watch Jonathan Haggerty's ONE Muay Thai bantamweight debut against Vladimir Kuzmin at ONE on Prime Video 4 on November 18 (US primetime), live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
