At ONE on Prime Video 4, Jonathan Haggerty enters new territory in his career. The former flyweight Muay Thai world champion will make his bantamweight debut on November 18.

After he was forced to pull out of the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix on two occasions due to illness, ‘The General’ will move up a weight class to face a new set of fellow contenders.

Whilst his decision to move to bantamweight came as a surprise to many, Haggerty has often spoken about a career move in a different direction, competing in MMA.

This was especially true when his former opponent Rodtang Jitmuangnon faced Demetrious Johnson in a mixed-rules fight. In an interview with SCMP MMA, Haggerty made it clear that just because he’s changed weight class, he isn’t moving past competing in MMA:

“Yeah, a hundred percent. Definitely. We’d have to wait and see. Like I said, I don’t want to call anyone out. One by one, I’ll tick them off. Who knows?”

Whilst his bantamweight debut against Vladimir Kuzmin is a massively important fight for Haggerty, ‘The General’ still has plenty of ambition to compete at multiple weights and in multiple rulesets.

Jonathan Haggerty returns at ONE on Prime Video 4, live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium. His bantamweight debut is free to watch for North American fans with a Prime subscription.

Jonathan Haggerty wants to prove that he is "the real deal" when he makes his bantamweight debut at ONE on Prime Video 4

Jonathan Haggerty is no stranger to being in the biggest and brightest spotlight. At ONE on Prime Video 4 on November 18, North American fans will get their chance to see ‘The General’ compete live and for free in US primetime via Amazon Prime Video.

With the chance to put on a show for the North American fans and an opportunity to make a big impact on his bantamweight debut, Haggerty spoke about making a statement in an interview with The MMA Superfan:

"I feel like I want to [make] an impression, like when I fought against [Joseph] Lasiri in my debut and then the next fight against Sam-A. That’s the impression I want to make, like, ‘Wow this guy is the real deal.'"

The former flyweight Muay Thai world champion will debut in his new weight division against Russia’s Vladimir Kuzmin.

With a whole new weight class to try and conquer just like he did at flyweight, Jonathan Haggerty shared some observations about his upcoming opponent in the same interview:

“Vladimir is a very good opponent. He’s a lot tricky and has a similar style to me. He’s not always in one place at a time. I can’t just stand there and give him some shots. Maybe I might push forward.”
