Still healing from his last firefight at ONE on Prime Video 4, ‘The General’ Jonathan Haggerty teased another fight in the works on his Instagram, which sparked a wild reaction from fans.

The Muay Thai sensation is desperate to keep the momentum going after a victorious bantamweight debut against Russian striker Vladimir Kuzmin a few weeks ago.

After a long period of inactivity due to serious health and weight issues, who can blame the Englishman for trying to make up for lost time?

Haggerty fans in particular were stoked by his recent announcement on Instagram as he posed with a couple of fresh bruises on his face this week.

He wrote in the caption:

“Healing up. We just got a fight date 🔥🤴🏼@onechampionship”

Fans wildly responded with the following comments:

“Yes!!”
“ I’m hoping it’s Saemapetch! 🤞🏻”
“Let’s go champ🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥”

Even former two-division world champion Aung La N Sang took to Instagram to express his astonishment:

“Damn!!! Back at it!!! 🔥🔥🔥”

Jonathan Haggerty promptly responded back and said:

“@aunglansang yes brother 🔥”

As one fan suggested, it’s not impossible for Saemapetch Fairtex to become Haggerty’s next opponent but he would be a hefty challenge for someone who has just moved up from flyweight to bantamweight.

The Thai native recently avenged a loss against long-time rival Rittewada Petchyindee at ONE 160: Ok vs Lee II with a brutal KO finish in the second round.

The unexpected knockout may have earned Saemapetch a shot at the world title, so although a Saemapetch-Haggerty showdown would be a barnburner, Saemapetch might be focusing on a Nong-O matchup as we speak.

Jonathan Haggerty would like an elbow war with Muangthai PK. Saenchai

Jonathan Haggerty would like to fight any Thai fighter in the top five bantamweight rankings but he’s got one fighter in mind whom he’d like to cut elbows with: Muangthai PK.Saenchai.

The former Lumpinee Muay Thai world champion recently defeated Vladimir Kuzmin by a close margin last July and would therefore be an excellent matchup for Jonathan Haggerty. The ‘Elbow Zombie,’ is a lifelong Muay Thai striker with over 200 victories to his name and is currently 4-1 under ONE Championship.

Typically winning bouts by way of decision, Haggerty expects a long-distance fight will give him the opportunity to score big on the cards. However, he wouldn't mind surprising Muangthai with a late knockout in the fight by way of elbows.

In a post-fight interview at ONE on Prime Video 4, Haggerty confirmed the idea and told the South China Morning Post (SCMP):

“100% [for the knockout], you know I got more elbows than him, you know. I think he’s just got the one, I’ve got loads, I’ve got spinning, I’ve got jumping, you name it, I got them all.”
