Muay Thai trailblazer John Wayne Parr singled out Tawanchai PK. Saenchai as one of the most humble yet scariest fighters in ONE Championship.

Ahead of Tawanchai’s world title bout on February 24, retired Muay Thai striker ‘The Gunslinger’ John Wayne Parr, praised the young superstar’s talents with a series of Instagram photos this week.

Both warriors met for the first time backstage at ONE 158 last June, when the 23-year-old slugger faced top-ranked featherweight Niclas Larsen for a potential shot at the world title.

The Australian legend was in attendance for the closed-door event as he cornered his ward, Reece McLaren for his own match in the same card. He caught Tawanchai’s brutal knockout power using his camera.

On Tuesday, Parr shared the footage he took along with a comment about the young star's character and warrior spirit.

In the caption, the Aussie wrote:

“One of the best parts of being involved with @onechampionship is making friends with all the fighters. One of the most humble yet most scary would have to be @tawanchay_pk. Super humble in the hotel, yet in the circle one of the hardest hitters on the roster.”

The Pattaya-born athlete has one of the highest knockout rates in ONE Championship’s Muay Thai division with three stoppages in his last four victories. Last September, he went the distance with long-reigning world champion Petchmorakot Petchyindee to secure divisional gold via unanimous decision.

This month at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video, the Thai warrior will put his newly-claimed belt on the line for the first time against a veteran fighter in Jamal Yusupov.

Jamal Yusupov says championship fight with Tawanchai 'will be fireworks'

No. 2 ranked contender Jamal Yusupov believes his world championship match against Tawanchai will spark fireworks.

The Turkish veteran is currently preparing for an all-out war this month, so he’s doing everything in his power to get himself into shape. In a new Instagram post, Yusupov shared his progress on Tuesday with the following caption:

“On 25 of February I will take the ONE Championship Belt from Tawanchai inshallah... don't even blink, this will be Fireworks. The preparations are more then well and I am more than ready🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷”

Plagued by injuries over the last few years, Yusupov, unfortunately, missed an opportunity to fight for gold against former Muay Thai kingpin Petchmorakot Petchyindee in 2022.

Coming off of a strong decision victory against Jo Nattawat at ONE 159, the Turkish star is hyped to prove why he’s one of the greatest featherweights in the world.
