British Muay Thai icon and former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title challenger 'Hitman' Liam Harrison of the United Kingdom believes the turning point in his legendary career came when he decided to leave English soil to live and train in Thailand -- the birthplace of 'the art of eight limbs'.
Today, Harrison is an absolute legend in the sport, and one of the most recognizable names in martial arts. The 38-year-old veteran competes in the world's largest martial arts organization among the best of the best, and he gives full credit for his time training in Thailand.
Speaking to the South China Morning Post in a recent interview, Harrison talked about his time in the 'land of a thousand smiles'.
'Hitman' said:
"Yeah, 100 percent. I think that was the best move I ever made, when I went to live in Thailand for a couple of years, came to grips with their training there, and their style of fighting and stuff like that. And ever since then, that's why I always say, it's consistency. That's the key."
Harrison is set to make his highly anticipated return to the Circle this weekend, after spending more than two years on the sidelines due to a knee injury that nearly ended his career.
