Gazing across cityscapes and snow-dusted red rocks, Adriano Moraes scoped out the land destined to be his battleground for his upcoming bout.

Fortunately for Moraes, the weather will be a little warmer in the Centennial State when he returns in May. 'Mikinho' was recently in Denver, Colorado, ahead of his main event fight with Demetrious Johnson for ONE Fight Night 10.

While there, Moraes had the opportunity to train, hold seminars, and check out sights like Red Rocks Amphitheater. He posted some of the highlights to his Instagram page, check them out below:

While Denver lies just east of the Rocky Mountains of the United States, the altitude lies about one mile (approx 1.6 km) above sea level. That isn’t as extreme as it is in the mountains, but some athletes do struggle to breathe if they don’t arrive a few extra days in advance.

The time in the area likely allowed Moraes to see what he’s up against in 10 weeks and showed him how he needs to prepare.

This knowledge is especially important for athletes like Adriano Moraes and Demetrious Johnson, who typically train near sea level in Florida and Washington state. It’ll be interesting to see how many of the fighters at ONE Fight Night 10, who may have never competed at that altitude before, prepare for their big fights in the months ahead.

Adriano Moraes relishes idea of another knee knockout ending trilogy with Demetrious Johnson

When Adriano Moraes and Demetrius Johnson get together, knees tend to fly.

Both fighters utilized their knees heavily in their finishing sequences of each other in their previous two fights, leading Moraes to wonder if it was inevitable to see another knee end the night on May 5.

Speaking to SCMP MMA, former flyweight world champion Adriano Moraes spoke of his intentions to not let the fight go to the judges in the trilogy.

"The first fight finished it with a knee, the second finished it with a knee also. It would be funny if the trilogy finishes with a knee again. I’ll be really prepared to do my best to put on a show. To show everybody why I’m one of the best in this game."

The winner of Moraes vs. Johnson III will undoubtedly cement themselves as one of the best ever at the weight class in and overall in ONE Championship.

Adriano Moraes has already been sitting at the top of the flyweight division for years, whether as the world champion or challenging for it, and he’s also incredibly skilled in avenging his losses.

Although Demetrious Johnson holds the momentum at this point in the trilogy, Adriano Moraes appears confident that this fight will be just one more era for him to reign as flyweight world champion.
