ONE atomweight Muay Thai world champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues will be making her much-anticipated return to action at ONE Fight Night 8. Across the circle from her on March 24 will be ONE atomweight kickboxing and interim atomweight Muay Thai world champion Janet 'JT' Todd.

It's been nearly three years since we last saw the Brazilian world champion in action. She was last seen beating Stamp Fairtex for the world title at ONE: New Breed back in August 2020. Rodrigues took time away from the sport to focus on her pregnancy and becoming a mother.

Meanwhile, ONE put together an interim world title in her absence. Janet Todd won the interim ONE atomweight Muay Thai world title by soundly beating promotional debutant Lara Fernandez at ONE 159.

This sets us up for a massive world title unification bout between Todd and Rodrigues to determine the division's undisputed queen. In a recent photo uploaded to Rodrigues'Instagram, we saw the Brazilian Muay Thai marvel looking ripped and ready for her world title showdown:

"Só happy and excited to be doing what i love. Im coming @onechampionship"

Allycia Hellen Rodrigues looks like she's not about to fight one of the most lethal kickboxers in the world in less than two weeks. There's absolutely no trace of nerves on her face as she looks happy and confident. It's a frightening look for anyone facing her inside the circle.

Janet Todd recalls cancellation of first bout with Allycia Hellen Rodrigues

ONE Fight Night 8 isn't the first time that a bout between ONE atomweight Muay Thai world champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues and interim queen Janet Todd was set up. The pair of world-class strikers were scheduled to lock horns late last year until COVID-19 spoiled it all.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Janet Todd recalled the circumstances surrounding the cancelation and how she dealt with it:

“I remember bawling my eyes out. And I was just in shock. I didn't believe it. Because the last time I had COVID, I had the body pains fever, and I didn't have any of that. It was just like a stuffy nose, which I thought were allergies, because we were staying at a casino where there's cigarette smoke that I'm not used to.”

Now fully recovered, Janet Todd is ready to make history at ONE Fight Night 8 on March 24 in Singapore. A win over Allycia Hellen Rodrigues would make her the first female two-sport world champion in ONE Championship since Stamp Fairtex.

ONE Fight Night 8 will take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and will be aired live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
