Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub recently weighed in on Conor McGregor's future. Although, Schaub wasn't sure that he wanted to see the Irishman return to the octagon, he's confident it could shatter records.
'The Notorious' hasn't fought in any capacity since his 2021 trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier. He suffered a severe leg break during the fight that required surgery. After a number of years away recovering and shooting a movie, McGregor was then expected to return to the cage against Michael Chandler earlier this year.
Their bout fell through, however, after the Dublin native suffered a toe injury. When pressed about when he would be fighting next, Dana White was also unsure but suggested it will now be in 2025.
Whether or not fans will see McGregor back in action next year remains to be seen though, following the recent verdict of his civil court case. Conor McGregor was recently found liable for assaulting a woman and has been ordered to pay a six-figure sum in damages.
While his future remains up in the air, Brendan Schaub shared his thoughts on the situation during a recent video on his YouTube channel. According to 'Big Brown', the court case has taken a toll on McGregor and he's unsure if he wants to see him fight again:
"Did you see Conor at all during the trial? It took its toll on him. Physically, you can see it has taken a toll on him...Do you want to see him back? I don't."
In regards to the potential success of McGregor's return, Schaub added:
"Let's say 2025 December live on Netflix Conor vs. Chandler. Massive and that's the problem. That's the f*cking problem."

Dan Hooker explains why Conor McGregor's return is likely delayed
Dan Hooker recently offered his take on why Conor McGregor's return to the octagon has been delayed.
Over recent months, 'The Hangman' has become the front runner to be the Irishman's next opponent, after both he and McGregor expressed their interest in facing one another during media interviews. While nothing has yet to be confirmed by the UFC, Hooker weighed in on the potential fight and when he thinks McGregor will be back in the cage.
Speaking to Combat TV, the New Zealander said:
"He's [Conor McGregor] got so much stuff going on... Energy drinks, beers, movies and stuff coming out. To pause that all for three or four months and do a training camp, the guy would lose more money than he'd make. I can't see how that machine would pause and you would be able to train... All of it is just too big."
