Team Lakay’s head coach Mark Sangiao has issued some words of warning for his pupil Stephen Loman.

Riding a two-fight win streak, Loman will face the biggest test of his career in his next fight when he takes on Bibiano Fernandes. Scheduled for ONE on Prime Video 4, the former two-time champion Fernandes will be making his return to the Circle after losing his title to John Lineker earlier this year.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Mark Sangiao spoke about Stephen Loman’s mental preparation going into the fight:

“He’s a wily veteran who knows the ins and outs of the fight game. My biggest advice for Stephen is to treat this fight as a war once he’s inside the Circle. If he does that, he won’t be surprised by Bibiano’s tricks.”

Whilst Bibiano Fernandes may have lost his last fight to John Lineker, he showed that he still has plenty of gas left in the tank with his performance. Despite being hurt by Lineker several times, Fernandes showed great heart to stay in the fight and fire back with damaging shots of his own.

Stephen Loman comes into the fight off of a unanimous decision win at ONE X over Shoko Sato.

Jeremy Pacatiw believes Stephen Loman can hang with Bibiano Fernandes’ grappling

ONE Championship bantamweight Jeremy Pacatiw believes that his teammate ‘The Sniper’ Stephen Loman is well-equipped for the biggest test of his career to date.

On the main card of ONE on Prime Video 4, Loman will face former two-time bantamweight world champion Bibiano Fernandes. With the bantamweight division currently without a champion after John Lineker vs. Fabricio Andrade ended in a no contest, this fight scheduled for November 19th will have huge ramifications for the division's future.

Stephen Loman’s Team Lakay alum Jeremy Pacatiw believes that his teammate can hang with Fernandes wherever the fight goes:

“I believe that Stephen can grapple with Bibiano if they go to the mat or to the ground, but he must be careful because we watched Bibiano’s fight. He's also a good grappler.”

Team Lakay is more than familiar with Bibiano Fernandes’ grappling ability that has allowed him to dominate the division for so long. Fernandes submitted Loman’s teammate Kevin Belingon twice in their intense rivalry for the world championship.

The 42-year old will be returning to the Circle for the first time since losing his bantamweight world title to John Lineker earlier this year in a fight where Fernandes showed his resilience.
