While O'Malley had his moments in the fight, Dvalishvili felt that Yan's ability to control the pace and tempo of the fight gave him the edge.

In a recent interview with The Schmo, Dvalishvili discussed his thoughts on his upcoming fight and addressed the controversy surrounding the previous fight with former champion Petr Yan. He stated:

"I mean when I was watching the fight, I thought Petr [won] but I understand when you leave like a new fight like these close, I understand you never know when judges how they gonna score you know. Like I mean, like it was close fight you know I think Peter won but it wasn't like super robbery or something."
