Michael ‘Venom’ Page praised Khamzat Chimaev’s evolution in the octagon, describing his newfound composure as a potential game-changer.
Speaking on Chimaev’s recent performance at UFC 308, where he secured a swift face-crank submission against Robert Whittaker, Page highlighted the Chechen-born fighter’s growth and tactical approach.
Chimaev dominated the highly anticipated bout, taking down Whittaker twice before locking in a brutal submission. The victory marked Chimaev’s sixth career submission and extended his undefeated record to 14-0.
Reports later revealed the extent of the damage inflicted on Whittaker, including dislodged teeth and a jaw injury, forcing the former champion to tap out. Page, reflecting on the fight, noted Chimaev’s shift from an all-out aggressive style to a more measured approach. In a clip shared by Red Corner MMA, the Brit said:
“He did not seem like he is normally a crash Bandicoot. Round one like just non-stop going crazy. This time, he seemed more composed. He’s in positions, he is picking his shots. Like, Khamzat, that could go five rounds. That’s dangerous for anybody in that division. That Khamzat there it was impressive to see his growth and intelligence in that fight.”

Dana White wants Khamzat Chimaev to fight for a title in the United States
Khamzat Chimaev's quick win over Robert Whittaker served as a statement of intent. He now holds the No.3 spot in the middleweight rankings, behind only former champions Sean Strickland and Israel Adesanya.
While Strickland was initially touted as the next challenger for the middleweight belt currently held by Dricus du Plessis, Chimaev's performance at UFC 308 could see 'Borz' get a title shot instead. Notably, UFC CEO Dana White recently revealed that he wants to see the unbeaten star fight for the championship in America.
White said:
"[Chimaev's] never looked better, especially against the competition that he had [Whittaker at UFC 308]. I'm looking forward to him getting a title fight in '25... We'll see how this plays out here but I want him to fight in the United States. I want him to fight for a title here in the US."
