Nate Diaz is yet to step into foot into the Octagon since losing his last fight to Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244. While there have been talks of a potential rematch between the pair, UFC president Dana White has hinted that the promotion is instead willing to book the highly-awaited Jorge Masvidal vs. Colby Covington fight first.

If that turns out to be the case, then Nate Diaz might have to sit out for a little longer before his eventual return to the Octagon. But taking to Twitter recently, Diaz hinted towards his next potential opponent.

Nate Diaz posts an interesting clip featuring Dan Hooker and Gilbert Burns

Gilbert Burns is currently the top contender to challenge for the UFC Welterweight Championship next. Despite the cancelation of his bout against Kamaru Usman at UFC 256, Durinho is expected to challenge for the title in early 2021.

However, to reach the top of the mountain at 170, Gilbert Burns had to take the harder route. Back in 2018, the Brazilian fighter was competing in the 155-lb division. In his lightweight clash against Dan Hooker at UFC 226, Burns was finished off by The Hangman via first-round TKO.

And earlier today, Nate Diaz took to Twitter and posted the same Dan Hooker TKO without providing any sort of context. We don't know who Diaz is calling out between the two at the moment, but it's interesting to recall that the self-proclaimed West Coast Gangster has had his fair share of issues with Gilbert Burns in the past.

Here is what Nate Diaz posted:

Is Nate Diaz aiming for a fight against either Dan Hooker or Gilbert Burns?

If Nate Diaz is indeed keen on returning to the Octagon, a fight against Dan Hooker, who is currently on the back of a loss to Dustin Poirier, could be an intriguing possibility.

However, if Diaz has his eyes set on Burns, it could mean that the former is also possibly eyeing a shot at the Welterweight crown if Burns manages to beat Usman for the title come 2021. It remains to be seen what plans the UFC has in store for Nate Diaz's return.
