Second-ranked ONE Championship bantamweight Muay Thai contender 'King of the North' Nico Carrillo of Scotland admits he may have a little tunnel vision heading into his next fight.
On one hand, he's getting set to face one of Muay Thai and kickboxing's pound-for-pound greats in Thai megastar 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9. On the other hand, it's his first shot at ONE Championship gold with the bantamweight Muay Thai world title on the line.
The 26-year-old Scottish star says he is much more focused on the latter, and will do everything in his power to gain a victory and take home his prized trophy.
Speaking on a guest appearance on the Leather'd Podcast, Carrillo says he is fully dialled in on becoming a ONE world champion.
'King of the North' said:
"Obviously, all my mindset is on this 145-pound gold. Absolutely. But I put my neck out in the light right now, I put my neck out in the line and I said once I win this I'm going to do this and I'm going to do that, and I will. But right now that belt is all my focus is on now."
Needless to say, fans can't wait to see Carrillo and Superlek trade leather in the ONE Championship ring.
