ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong announces Openweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix

ONE Championship continues to blaze its own trail in the combat sports scene by announcing a massive and game-changing tournament.

The promotion’s Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong, during the ONE Fight Night 6: Superbon vs. Allazov live press conference on Wednesday, revealed a historic Openweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix, among several other massive ventures.

The ambitious tournament will pit 16 of the best strikers in the world against each other, all vying for a cool US$1,000,000 grand prize.

The ONE head honcho shared during the press conference:

“Fans all over the world, please tell me who you wanna see, do you wanna see Superbon, do you wanna see Rodtang? Who do you wanna see because this is an Openweight Grand Prix.”

The possibilities in this tournament are endless given the promotion’s stacked roster of absolute killers.

World champions and crowd favorites like Superbon Singha Mawynn, Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Nong-O Gaiyanghadao, Regian Eersel, and more are all expected to take part in this striking extravaganza.

Sityodtong continued:

“I promise you this will blow up the sport all over the world, with our global broadcast, people will be tuning in from all over the world. The very best, the very, very best, irrespective of weight class. Muay Thai world champions will be competing, 16 of the world’s best.”

ONE confirms interim atomweight kickboxing world title match

Superstars Anissa Meksen and Stamp Fairtex are set to settle their differences in a special mixed-rules bout this weekend at ONE on Fight Night 6: Superbon vs Allazov.

Regardless of the outcome, Sityodtong revealed that a rematch is already set between the two with the interim atomweight kickboxing world title on the line.

“Today I’m announcing the interim kickboxing world title fight. After their fight on Saturday, they will face each other in either February if they’re injury-free. If not, then March.”

Furthermore, the ONE CEO also confirmed a generous THB 10 million donation to struggling Muay Thai gyms around Thailand:

“I’m making a 10 million baht donation, I’m doing a Thailand tour to the smallest gyms all over Thailand. We are doing this on January 28th, the week of Janury 28th, myself, our managing director Khun Prem, Khun Dang from the Royal Thai Army, P’Lai our president from Thailand, we’ll be doing a Thailand tour all over Thailand to donate 10 million baht to revive all the smaller gyms and smaller camps. This is just the start, you’ll see.”
