Indian ONE Championship fighter Ritu Phogat is heading into married life after she and her partner Sachin Chikara got hitched this past week.

Phogat, who owns seven wins under ONE Championship, posted images of her wedding on Instagram with several personalities congratulating her on the milestone.

She wrote on Instagram:

“I’m so lucky to be called your wife now and I can’t wait to spend the rest of our life together. I love you 💋❤️. It was a very magical and special day that I loved absolutely every second of it.”

Ritu Phogat wrote in another post that she even trained during her wedding day and even went into her photoshoot wearing boxing gloves.

“We can not escape from the things that are in our DNA. Yes, I did my practice on my wedding day and got a photo session done in my gloves too!”

Phogat is one of the most influential Indian athletes of her generation, and she’s part of the famed Phogat sisters that captivated the Indian subcontinent after their wrestling success in the Commonwealth Games. ‘The Indian Tigress’ trained under the tutelage of her father, Mahavir Singh Phogat, and her athletic exploits with her sisters ultimately became the inspiration for the hit movie Dangal, which was released in 2016.

An intimidating wrestler, Phogat went on a tear at the start of her ONE Championship journey, going 4-0 in her first four fights and 7-1 in her first eight.
