If Fabricio Andrade is to be believed, John Lineker will be stepping into a world of hurt when the two Brazilian warriors meet inside the circle with ONE Championship gold on the line.

Andrade is scheduled to challenge ‘Hands of Stone’ for the ONE bantamweight world championship when the promotion returns to Malaysia on October 21. Under the bright lights of the U.S. prime-time main event, Andrade plans to deliver fans a spectacular knockout against a man who has never been knocked out in his MMA career.

During his appearance at the ONE on Prime Video 3 virtual press conference, Fabricio Andrade sent a message to the reigning and defending titleholder, telling him that he has no idea what he’s in for when the two men clash:

“He thinks I’m like all the other guys he’s fought. He has no idea what’s coming. He can throw all the punches he wants. I’m still going to knock him out.”

While it could be said that John Lineker is yet to face anyone as dangerous as Fabricio Andrade, the opposite could be just as true. Through five fights, ‘Wonder Boy’ has scored spectacular wins, but none of them have come against a heavy-hitter like ‘Hands of Stone’.

Fabricio Andrade not impressed with John Lineker’s title win against Bibiano Fernandes

When John Lineker delivered the knockout blow to ONE Championship legend Bibiano Fernandes, the MMA world was left in shock, but one man was decidedly unimpressed.

In an interview with the South China Morning Post (SCMP), Fabricio Andrade believes that Lineker’s bout with Fernandes did nothing more than expose holes in Lineker’s game that he could exploit when the two square off at ONE on Prime Video 3.

“Bibiano is a grappler and everybody knows that. He has always taken his opponents to the ground and tried to finish his opponents on the ground.”

Andrade continued, saying:

“The fact that Bibiano was able to drop him showed me that [Lineker] has a lot of holes in his game, and that gives me a lot more confidence coming into this fight against him. No, I have no interest in putting this fight to the ground because I believe I can finish him in the first round only in striking.”
