Petsukumvit Boi Bangna showed the frightening power on his hands by blitzing his compatriot Petchmuangsri Tded99 in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 8 on March 10 inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium. The 24-year-old Thai spitfire recorded a highlight reel-worthy knockout victory at the 2:36 mark of round two in their flyweight Muay Thai contest.

Petsukumvit set the tempo by opening the fight with jabs, while his aggressive opponent threw strikes with evil intentions right off the bat. Petchmuangsri swung for the fences early on, but his big head kicks and looping hooks only caught air. Petsukumvit, on the other hand, found success in the clinch with short elbows.

The An Sukhumvit Gym standout landed crisper shots near the end of round 1, as he found a home for his laser right hand over and over again. The Thai gunslinger fought at close range at the start of the second canto and traded a barrage of knees to the body. Petsukumvit, however, once again let his hands go and kept tagging his 19-year-old foe, who was unable to mount his own offense.

At the midway point of round 2, Petsukumvit’s aggressiveness paid off when he was able to pin Petchmuangsri near the ropes. He threw a plethora of wild hooks that left Petchmuangsri no choice but to turtle up. The Tded99 Gym standout’s defenses soon crumbled due to the sheer volume of Petsukumvit’s relentless attacks. After hitting Petchmuangsri’s guard initially, Petsukumvit cracked his fellow Thai’s chin with a nasty left hook that ended his night for good.

ONE Chairman Chatri Sityodtong took note of that performance and rewarded him with a cool 350,00 baht bonus. An ecstatic Petsukumvit told Mitch Chilson in his post-fight interview:

“I wished for that knockout, and I trained really hard for this fight”.

With the win, Petsukumvit Boi Bangna improved his win-loss slate to 62-26.
