Paige VanZant contributed to Damar Hamlin's GoFundMe campaign after the Buffalo Bills player was injured in the first quarter of a game against the Cincinnati Bengals after colliding with an opponent.

Before being transported to a nearby hospital, Hamlin was treated on the field for over 30 minutes. The NFL suspended play for the evening, approximately one hour after the horrific incident. Hamlin, a defensive back (safety) for the Buffalo Bills, was tackling Bengals receiver Tee Higgins when it appeared that Higgins' helmet struck Hamlin in the chest. He landed on his back after an initial attempt to stand.

More than 10 minutes of CPR were administered to Hamlin on the field, and he was given oxygen as he was carried off on a stretcher. Upon arrival at the hospital, Hamlin was reported to be in critical condition.

Damar Hamlin's GoFundMe page, which he created in December 2020 to host the annual Christmas toy drive in his hometown, has received hundreds of thousands of dollars in online contributions. The page's initial fundraising goal of $2,500 has been surpassed with $3,011,660 raised.

Former UFC women's flyweight contender Paige VanZant, who competed in the UFC between 2014 and 2020, made a generous donation of $1000 towards the campaign for the NFL star. She took to Twitter to share a link to the campaign as well.

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship president claims Paige VanZant is doing very well outside fighting

Paige VanZant signed a four-fight contract with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) in August 2020, following her departure from the UFC. The deal was reportedly worth over $1 million.

Outside of fighting, VanZant has amassed a large fanbase on the members-only platform OnlyFans and has appeared on reality television programs such as Dancing with the Stars and Chopped. She has also claimed that she makes more money from her other endeavors than she did competing inside the UFC.

Paige VanZant was originally scheduled to make her return to bare-knuckle competition in August, but her fight was canceled, and the expectation was that she would be rebooked before the end of 2022.

With no news of her return, BKFC President Dave Feldman told MMA Fighting that he's not entirely sure if Paige VanZant will return to fighting now that she's doing well for herself outside the competition:

"She’s [VanZant] doing other things and she’s doing very, very well at those and making a lot of money. So I don’t know. If she wants to come back, she’s welcome to, but we don’t know for sure if she’s coming back. She does have a place her. We’ll see shortly.”
