Petr Yan blasted Sean O’Malley after O'Malley suffered a round-three submission loss in the hands of UFC bantamweight kingpin Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 316.
Dvalishvili claimed the UFC bantamweight title last year after dethroning 'Suga' at UFC 306 by unanimous decision. This weekend, in the rematch, 'The Machine' did not let the fight go all the way and secured a stoppage victory as promised.
After O'Malley's second loss to Dvalishvili, former 135-pound UFC champion Yan took a major dig at 'Suga,' by posting on X:
"This is what happens when you're handed things you didn't earn. Back in line, buddy @SugaSeanMMA"

Back in 2022, O'Malley locked horns with Yan at UFC 280 and won by a highly controversial split decision.
However, the tables have turned now as O'Malley has lost two bouts in a row and is going back to the drawing board. Meanwhile, 'Mo Mercy' is riding a two-fight win streak and hopes to get his crosshairs on Dvalishvili soon.
Petr Yan calls out Merab Dvalishvili for rematch
After defending his title for the second time in 2025, Merab Dvalishvili is now on a 13-fight UFC win streak and hopes to take on Cory Sandhagen next. However, during the post-fight presser, when asked if he would again like to fight Petr Yan and Umar Nurmagomedov down the line, Dvalishvili said:
"No problem. I am a champion now, and I just want to be busy, and whoever the UFC thinks is the most deserving guy, I'm fighting next. I love fighting, I'm just grateful. As long as some bullsh*t fighter doesn't [disrespect] me, I'm happy... As long as they deserve to fight for the belt, I'm good...Whoever the UFC will put in front of me, I will fight."
