When Reinier de Ridder gets his hands on you, the chances of an escape are slim to none. The undefeated two-division world champion has incredible strength and a relentless grip, putting any fighter within arm’s length in imminent danger.

During a conversation with Morning Kombat, ‘The Dutch Knight’ spoke about training with grip strength devices known as crush grippers. However, he said that his squeeze strength comes from some secret training methods that he is not quite ready to give away:

“I used to, but I don’t really think that really helped me too much [crush grippers]. But I have some special things I do for my squeeze strength. I won’t give it away.”

Reinier de Ridder will once again put that strength to the test on Friday, December 2, when he returns to the circle against reigning ONE interim heavyweight world champion Anatoly Malykhin.

Both fighters will walk into the main event showdown with ONE gold wrapped around their waist and an undefeated record.

‘The Dutch Knight’ is riding a 16-0 run with an impressive 12 victories by way of submission and a 71% finish rate inside the circle. Not to be outdone, his Russian challenger is 11-0 overall with seven career knockouts. Malykhin has also finished every man that has stood in front of him under the ONE Championship banner.

Reinier de Ridder recognizes the danger in fighting Anatoly Malykhin

Reinier de Ridder has faced some of the toughest men in ONE Championship history, including former two-division world champion Aung La N Sang and Russian juggernaut Vitaly Bigdash. Perhaps his biggest challenge awaits him in the ONE on Prime Video 5 main event.

In less than a week, ‘The Dutch Knight’ will put his ONE light heavyweight title on the line against Anatoly Malykhin. A man who, like himself, has never experienced defeat.

De Ridder recognizes the danger of facing a fighter with the power of Malykhin:

"That’s the truth, man. But he’s an interesting matchup. He’s dangerous. He’s been knocking people out left and right. I’ve been strangling people unconscious left and right."

It will be a classic striker versus grappler affair when the two step inside the circle on December 2. You can watch the fight, plus three more world title bouts, live and for free on Amazon Prime Video in North America with an active subscription.
